Liberty Property Trust Thursday announced that it will break ground on its first building this spring at Liberty Logistics Center II, a new 73-acre industrial park located at the corner of 71st Avenue and Buckeye Road in Phoenix.   The 222,910 square foot distribution facility is the first of the 1.5 million square feet of multi-tenant industrial space planned at the new park.

Betty Lynch, who is widely known in the Southwest Valley for her prolific volunteerism, received the title award, the 2016 Glendale Ethics in Action Award. Ms. Lynch was selected for her commitment to the community, education, mental health, and the most vulnerable among us.

Peoria fire crew fixes pool fence after near-drowning call

Following a near-drowning incident, a Peoria fire crew noticed that the gate leading to the pool was broken - secured only by bungee cords - and suspected that the broken gate was in part to blame for the baby getting into the pool.  The crew took a trip to a Home Depot, where they purchased a new latch, pole and hardware for the restoration of the backyard gate with funds from the Peoria Firefighters Charities.

Midwestern University-Glendale Establishes Nanomedical Cancer Research Center

With a vision to build a growing institutional research investment on the broad and extensive experience of a multidisciplinary team of well-established investigators in nanoscience and nanomaterials, Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer has endorsed the establishment of the Nanomedicine Center of Excellence in Translational Cancer Research (Nanomedicine COE-TCR) by the College of Pharmacy-Glendale (CPG).
