Practice Spelling and Math with MAGIC!

Here's a great card trick that uses spelling to amaze and mystify. During Circus Camp, Mister Greggy can show you how to make it look like you mix up the cards and still make the trick work!

For the next trick, using just cards with number on them you appear to read the minds of the audience! This is a fun way to practice math and do magic at the same time.

Remember, we have our popular Extreme Magic Camp coming up this summer, along with Unicycling, Juggling, and Aerial! Go to www.CircusCamp.org for detail.

One of Circus Camp's busiest counselors, Hilary Riall started as a 5 year old camper. Now a lead aerial counselor, Hilary is also a nanny, school teacher and our new office manager.

* How long have you been attending Circus Camp?
I've been going to Circus Camp since I was five years old. My parents took me to see Cirque Du Soleil when I was four and it was pretty much all I could talk about. I was lucky enough to have very supportive parents who found me a place that I could join the circus every summer, and I never looked back! 21 years later and I can't imagine doing anything else.

* What's some memorable moments campers have experienced from your teaching?
I think that the feeling of success is something that we value at circus camp - we believe everyone should be able to experience success, and seeing the look in a child's eyes when they reach a goal that seemed insurmountable before is a great feeling. Many of my students have grown so strong over the years, and they can do things now they never thought were possible.

* Describe a day in the life of an aerial trainer at camp.
BIG breakfast, warm up, aerial, aerial, lunch, aerial, aerial, face painting, BIG dinner! (This is just about my schedule every day at camp)

* How have circus skills helped you in your life?
Teamwork, enthusiasm, and the ability to take initiative - to see a problem and start working to fix it, to help the group, the ensemble, the camp as a whole. Everyone benefits when we all take responsibility for the campers' and fellow staff members' experiences.

* What did you have for breakfast today?
Flying Biscuit Cafe! My all-time favorite breakfast. Is it sad that all the servers know my name?... :-)
