Every Child Ready to Read:
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Wednesday, May 18
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
 
It's never too early or too late to help your child get ready to read. 
Parents who have children under the age of 5 are invited to join us 
for this free workshop on early literacy. You will learn tips, tricks and activities to do with your children that will help them learn important 
early literacy skills.
 
This workshop is for parents/caregivers and their children, ages 0 to 5.
 
This project is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Connecticut State Library.
 
 A light super will be provided and registration is required.

Growing Your Business 
with Email and Social Media

In this workshop, you'll learn how to make the most of the combination
of email and social media for your business.  When the session is done, you'll have a greater understanding of marketing basics. 
 
You'll learn what a "campaign" is and what to offer in that campaign.  You'll be given some simple but powerful tips for how to get your messages opened, shared and socially visible.  And you'll see that there are some great tools you can use to help engage with your existing customers and supporters as well as expand your reach to new prospects.

Supper Book Group:
The Boys in the Boat

Every month food is ordered from a local restaurant, 
to be delivered to the library at 5:30 pm, the day of the meeting.
If possible, the food will relate thematically to the book.
The menu is available at the Circulation Desk & emailed to everyone registered to attend that month.
 
Participants select and pay for their menu items before the meeting. Please leave your money at the Circulation Desk by 1:30,
the day of the book club meeting for that month.
**Please feel free to bring your own supper. 
Coffee, tea and water are provided by the library.

New London Tree Walk from A to Z

Violin Lessons for Children

Free Violin lessons with instruction and instruments
provided  by New London Community Orchestra.

New London Community Orchestra is now offering  2 new sessions
of free violin lessons for children (grades 6-9) starting May 3.
Instruments will be provided free of charge, 
and children may take  their violins home to practice.

Lessons are in small groups with a professional teacher. 
Session 1 will be 4:00pm-4:30pm, 
and Session 2 will be 4:30pm-5:00pm.
 
Registration is REQUIRED and limited  to 
the number of instruments donated to the program.
