Q: Can you give a short history of your recovery story?
A: I view my personal recovery as the beginning of a life worth living. Because of my addiction I was constantly searching for true happiness. I could never handle that time in my life -- it continuously spun out of control.
Q: How did you connect with Next Step and become a member of the staff?
A: I have always enjoyed helping others. I began formal training at AB Tech with hopes of working in the helping field in Charlotte, North Carolina. Because of what can only be described as a miracle, a position at Next Step Recovery was offered to me.
Q: What advice do you have for those on the path to recovery and those who love them?
A: Never give up! Recovery takes some work, but the possibilities are endless. The new life that you create for yourself will be better than anything that you can imagine.
Q: What is a fun, little-known fact about you?
A: What I enjoy the most is spending time and making waffles with my Grandson, and I melt when he calls me grandaddy!!
