THRIVE SUMMER BIBLE STUDY -  THE ARMOR OF GOD

The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer
All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you - unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. A devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that m atters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny. But his battle plan depends on catching you unaware and unarmed. If you're tired of being pushed around and caught with your guard down, this study is for you.

The Enemy always fails miserably when he meets a woman dressed for the occasion. The Armor of God, more than merely a biblical description of the believer's inventory, is an action plan for putting it on and developing a personalized strategy to secure victory. (7 Sessions)

RUTH HARBOR

Since 2001, young women have come to Ruth Harbor to continue their pregnancy, receive support in decision-making, and experience positive life change. What brings a woman to Ruth Harbor is of little consequence - who she is when she leaves is the focus. And when the birth of her baby comes she is prepared and more confident. Ruth Harbor's education and support helps new moms experience emotional health whether they choose to parent or place for adoption. Ruth Harbor is also impacting families and birth fathers with positive support.
M ore than a shelter, more than a home, Ruth Harbor is also a program:
  • Staff members come along side each resident to design a Care Plan tailored specifically to reach personal goals of growth, independence, safety, and life skills.
  • With the support and direction of a staff counselor and live-in house parents, residents live together as a family, learning to care for both their home and one another.
  • While at Ruth Harbor women receive counseling, education support, life-skills training, access to quality health care, spiritual guidance, parenting training and/or adoption assistance at no charge
  • Our focus is on being a home, not an institution, where up to six residents live modeling a family lifestyle.
  • The emphasis is on grace and independent living rather than any circumstances that brought our residents here.
  • Additional support is often provided through mentors, host homes, and partner agencies.
Information on parenting, adoption and life-skill training is provided by subject matter experts.
