In response to requests from authors, we are allowing the submission of articles to the Journal of Neurophysiology that were previously posted to a preprint server or other non-peer-reviewed website.
Authors who would like to take advantage of prepublication of their article must adhere to our prior publication guidelines.
Our Review Collection Continues to Expand
We continue to publish an increasing number of review manuscripts on hot topics in neuroscience. So far this year, we have published six reviews, and 50 others have been commissioned by the Editor.
Most of the reviews are related to our Calls for Manuscripts, but some are standalone reviews.
Sean Stocker is a Professor of Neural & Behavioral Sciences at Penn State College of Medicine. Sean's research program represents a bridge between the neuroscience and cardiovascular fields. His work examines how the central nervous system detects changes in circulating factors such as angiotensin II, insulin, leptin, and plasma sodium concentrations to alter body fluid homeostasis and sympathetic outflow in conditions including obesity and salt-sensitive hypertension.
Rapid Reports Gain Popularity
Our Rapid Reports are gaining popularity. As peer review becomes slower and more uncertain, editorial decisions for Rapid Reports are provided within
14 days.
All manuscripts accepted as Rapid Reports are publicized through a variety of mechanisms, and authors are invited to participate in a
PodCast related to their article.
Information about Rapid Reports:
All submissions are handled by the Editor-in-Chief to assure a rapid turnover.
Rapid Reports may contain no more than 4,000 words (including references) and no more than 4 tables or figures.
Rapid Reports are intended to be short, high-profile manuscripts and not preliminary reports.
Rapid Report submissions that require substantial revisions are reclassified as regular research reports and handled accordingly through the rest of peer review.
