Rational Middle Energy Series
|
WorldBoston on Thursday, May 5, will present the final installment of the World Affairs Councils of America's
Rational Middle Energy Series tour
. RMES counts more than 4 million views of the 22 episodes in the documentary film series. The videos have
sparked a productive national conversation around the current energy challenge and what it will take to achieve a cleaner energy future.
Rational Middle Energy Series producer and director Gregory Kallenberg, will moderate an expert panel featuring:
Greg Guidry, Executive Vice President at Shell; Henrietta Davis, former Mayor of Cambridge and a UN Climate Conference attendee; and Professor
Christopher Knittel, Director of the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research at MIT.
In addition to WorldBoston, these Councils participated in WACA's grant-funded program series: WAC Philadelphia; WAC Charlotte; WorldDenver; WAC Hilton Head; Alaska World Affairs Council; and WAC Greater Houston.

EU in the U.S. Program Series

EU in the U.S. 2016
is a grant-funded program administered by WACA in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to the United States. Its goal is to raise awareness, knowledge, and understanding about EU policies, the EU's role as an international actor, and the value of the EU-U.S. relationship.

Ambassador O'Sullivan Discusses Europe's Future
David O'Sullivan, EU Ambassador to the United States, discussed the future of Europe in the context of challenges that include the refugee crisis, terrorism and security concerns, and a rise in populism and anti-establishment thinking. Speaking to the Cleveland Council on World Affairs in early April, Ambassador O'Sullivan said he is optimistic that these challenges, which require continental-level solutions, will tend to strengthen, not weaken, European cooperation. Dr. Radelet, is the Donald F. McHenry Chair in Global Human Development at Georgetown University, as well as a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. His work focuses on economic growth, poverty reduction, foreign aid, and debt, primarily in Africa and Asia. He has worked in developing countries around the world for 30 years and currently serves as economic adviser to the President of Liberia (full bio).
