FC Designated Military Friendly® School
Fullerton College has been named a Military Friendly® School according to criteria set by the Military Friendly® ratings and resources division of Victory Media. The designation is awarded to higher education institutions for exhibiting leading practices in recruiting and supporting post-military students.

Disability Support Services Recognition Ceremony
Join Disability Support Services in celebrating graduates, scholarship recipients and the successful completion of a semester at the DSS Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, May 5 in Building 200, Room 229 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Coffee with the Trustees and Chancellor: TODAY at 3:30 p.m.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the upcoming "coffees" with the NOCCCD Board of Trustees and Chancellor. These are open discussions where the community can ask questions or just listen to conversation. No topic of relevance to the district is off limits - budget, funding, projects, issues in and out of the classroom, etc. Upcoming "coffees" will be: May 2, at 3:30 p.m. at Fullerton College in Rooms 224-228, and on May 3 at 3 p.m. at the Anaheim Campus in Rooms 105-107.
Horticulture Department's 2016 Spring Plant Sale
The sale will continue onto its final day on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Horticulture Building, Building 1600.
Reminder: Sociology Club Presents "Saving Huey Foundation"
The Fullerton College Sociology Club is hosting the Saving Huey Foundation for a presentation that includes a brief history of dog fighting as well as the current situation faced by anti-dog fighting advocates on Monday, May 2.

5K Charity Fun Run Hosted by Associated Students
Associated Students of Fullerton College will host a 5K Charity Fun Run on Saturday, May 14 at 8 a.m. The cost to participate is $5 for students with A.S. Benefits or $10 for the general public. All proceeds will benefit the Speech and Language Development Center in Buena Park, which serves children and young adults who have special needs in language, learning and/or behavior. Fullerton College Debaters Take Top Awards at Robert Barbera Debate Invitational
Fullerton College debaters prevailed against teams from Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Northridge at the Spring 2016 Robert Barbera Debate Invitational hosted at Northridge on Saturday, April 23. Fullerton completed sweeps in both team debate and speaker awards.

Survey Software Now Available for Use
NOCCCD has acquired Qualtrics for use by everyone across the district. This software service is designed to make the creation and administration of surveys easy and comprehensive. The tool is available through myGateway and instructions will be posted on the district website.

Staff Development Workshops
These are the last workshops of the year. On Tuesday, May 3 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Room 1428, Habits of Mind: Mindful-FC Application of Mindfulness Principles to Educational Setting will be presented by Deidre Hughes. On Thursday, May 5 from 3 to 4:30 p.m in Room 311, On Course Strategies will be presented by Carolyn Facer and Martha Strey. Finally, on May 11 from 4 to 5 p.m. in Room 1429, Habits of Mind: Mindful FC-Intro to Mindfulness Curriculum will be presented by Deidre Hughes, Tamara Trujillo and a student panel.

Fullerton College Applied Voice students present a Spring Recital. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and $7 for seniors and students.
Fullerton College Art Gallery is proud to announce the Student Art Exhibition 2016. This annual event showcases the artwork of Fullerton College art students in all mediums. The exhibit will be on display from May 4 through May 18, 2016. Admission is free to the public, so come see the excellence of our student artists! Many works are available for purchase. The opening reception is on Tuesday, May 3 at 5 p.m.
This concert will present piano music majors and Certificate of Piano Teaching students playing their prepared pieces.
The Fullerton College Symphonic Winds will perform at FC Recital Hall. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and $7 for seniors and students.

Baseball
The Hornets took two out of three from the #1 Saddleback Gauchos beating them 8-6 on the road Friday. Two Gaucho errors, with two outs in the eighth inning, allowed three unearned runs to cross the plate for the Hornets.

Softball
Three Hornet Softballers were selected to the 2016 All-Orange Empire Conference team are Brigid Ruiz, Tiffany Centeno, and Becca Perez. Anissa Loera, Evelyn Hernandez, and Alyssa Dilay were honorable mention selections.
Up Next: The 10th seeded Lady Hornets will travel to El Camino College to take on the Warriors for the first round of the SoCal Regional Playoffs for a best-of-three series beginning on Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m.
Men's Basketball
A thrilled Isaiah "Slim" Clark made it official on Friday signing with Dixie State in beautiful St. George, Utah. A hard-working player, Clark started in 30 games for the Hornets this past season averaging 7.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
