The Library has initiated a new community resource. We have set up a seed saving area for garden enthusiasts and others willing to use and enjoy. Our initial seed offering is organic seed from High Mowing Seeds in Vermont. Patrons are welcome to take seed and donate saved seed as well. We hope to entice patrons to preserve local and heirloom seeds as well as provide a place for the gathering and sharing of growing enthusiasts. We encourage you to spread the word! If you know of any seed savers, we have seed envelopes for the taking. In the works are seed-saving brochures, new seed-saving books to lend, and in the near future some seed-saving workshops to educate patrons on the basics of proper seed saving as well as the importance of knowing invasives.
