Amendment to Supporting Documentation Requirements for Program Year 2015
MeHI recently updated the supporting documentation requirements for Program Year 2015. Please visit MeHI's MU Toolkit for Eligible Professionals to download and view the revised requirements for CEHRT, Patient Volume, Security Risk Analysis, Clinical Decision Support Rule, and Heath Information Exchange.

MASS HIWAY UPDATE
HIT Council to Discuss HIway Regulations
The next Health Information Technology Council meeting, scheduled for June 6th at 3:30 pm, will focus on HIway regulations. The Council will discuss regulations regarding patient consent to share information over the HIway. They will also discuss regulations outlining requirements for providers to connect to the HIway as mandated under Chapter 224 of the Acts of 2012.

The agenda and presentations will be posted, when available, on the HIT Council's website.

HHS Announces $1.5 Million in Funding Opportunities to Advance Common Health Data Standards
HHS logo - light blue. Official HHS logo from website (CMYK). The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released two funding opportunities, offered by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), worth $1.5 million.

The High Impact Pilot and Standards Exploration Award cooperative agreement programs are designed to spur the development of standards and technology that will improve the sharing of health information among health care stakeholders and improve care delivery and the patient experience.

New Federal Initiative Looks to Redesign the Medical Bill   
A Bill You Can Understand - HHS.gov.  
The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Sylvia M. Burwell announced a challenge to encourage health care organizations, designers, developers, digital tech companies, and other innovators to design a medical bill that's simpler, cleaner, and easier for patients to understand. The "A Bill You Can Understand" design and innovation challenge is intended to solicit new approaches and draw national attention to a common complaint with the health care system: that medical billing is a source of confusion for patients and families.
