In response to steward feedback, CSSA has extended the deadline for new voluntary stewards to submit their Voluntary Steward Agreement(s) from January 31, 2015 to Friday February 20, 2015.
As indicated in the December 23 CSSA News and Updates, as part of our work in seeking harmonization across packaging and printed paper programs in Canada, we developed a harmonized approach for Voluntary Stewards. The new policy is available here.
To apply to be a new voluntary steward, businesses are asked to download the agreement and complete all sections. You may scan your completed agreement and send to National Steward Services via email at [email protected] or fax it to 1-844-471-1836 by February 20th.
As a result of the new February deadline for Voluntary Steward Agreements, CSSA plans to post the complete list of voluntary and resident stewards for all CSSA's packaging and printed paper programs by mid-March, in order to facilitate stewards preparing their 2015 reports due on May 31, 2015.

Already a Voluntary Steward?
If you are an existing Voluntary Steward and wish to continue as a voluntary steward with one of CSSA's programs, you do not need to take any immediate action. All existing voluntary stewards (effective February 20, 2015) will be grandfathered under the new policy. Existing voluntary stewards with MMBC and MMSW will be contacted by National Steward Services throughout 2015 and requested to complete a voluntary steward agreement, which will then be appended to their Membership Agreement.
