Announcements for May 29th, 2016
This Sunday:
"Beyond Technique: The Essence of Dialogue "

May 29th, 2016
10:00 a.m.
Pulpit Guest: Alice Foley
Worship Coordinator: Jane Brown

In our modern culture, people are able to interact with one another in many ways: they can sing, dance, or play together with little difficulty, but their ability to talk together about subjects that matter deeply to them seems invariably to lead to dispute, division, and often to violence. This condition points to a deep pervasive defeat in the process of human thought. Today, Alice Foley will speak on resolving conflict through mediation.

Alice Foley is the Director of the Emerging Visions Enterprise. She was previously an instructor at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and the director of the Milwaukee Mediation Center.
Religious Education

Religious Education programs for children and youth are offered during both services.

Others have found new avenues for expressing their personal theologies and the core of their spirituality." For more information, please stop by the table or contact Patricia D'Auria, UU Wellspring Program Coordinator,   via the church office .

NEXT SUNDAY: "SO THAT OTHERS MAY SIMPLY LIVE"

Sunday, June 5th, 2016
10:00 a.m.
The Rev. Suzelle Lynch

"Live Simply So That Others May Simply Live" is a quote misattributed to Sister Elizabeth Ann Seton. But no matter who said it, it's holds a powerful lesson for us. Is it possible for us to live with minimal dependence on material things and a maximal interdependence upon each other?  What would this take? Who needs to do it-is it an issue of privilege? If we change our personal behavior, will it help stem the overwhelming tide of climate change? We consider a radical reorientation of our attitude towards all human beings and all living things today.  Special music today from Ruben Piirainen, Music Director.

The Nicaragua Brigadista Group (or, in this case, Bra -gadista Group) is collecting new and gently used bras of all sizes and types to give to the women in Nicaragua. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please bring donations to the church building by June 15th to be packed up. For more information, contact Caryl Sewell   via the church office .
MAY FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS

In May, non-perishable food items, along with a check for $75, will be given to Calvary Memorial Church. They specifically requested canned vegetables and fruit, tuna, peanut butter, and cereal. If you can, please bring two items for the bin, as attendance is more sparse this time of year.  For more information, or to volunteer, contact Ellen Newbauer or Melanie Weston via the church office.
