Missions and Ministry update...

"Please pray for Good Samaritan Ministries International Day of Prayer being held locally on June 4th & 5th."

Good Samaritan Ministries is sponsoring an "International Day of Prayer" for the ministry out of the Beaverton Headquarters on
June 4th & 5th.
The day begins on Saturday, June 4, from 2-4 p.m. at the "Prayer Labyrinth" at Mission of the Atonement Lutheran Church, 7400 SW Scholls Ferry Rd, across from Washington Square. The "Prayer Journey" continues 6-9 a.m., Sunday, at the Beaverton Headquarters, 7929 SW Cirrus Dr, Beaverton.  Following the Journey a "Praise, Worship and Sharing Time" is until 12 noon. Afterward, a brunch will be served (donation basis please).

House of Zion needs you!  Drivers and their vehicles are needed for the June 4 clothing drive at the Friends of Newberg, located in Newberg. The clothing will be picked up and delivered to the HOZ in Woodburn. Last year we collected over two van loads. Contact Cliff Hamlow or Suzie Carmichael for more information.

Fair Trade coffee, tea, chocolate and much more will be  offered for sale between services Sunday in the Fireside  Room. Proceeds from Fair Trade sales benefit the OSLC Hope for Kidz program.

Hey Haiti Club folks and those who would like to be,

We have moved our Haiti Club meetings back to the second week of the month for the rest of this year!  June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12 are the dates coming up,5:30 p.m. at the Szechuan Kitchen. There is a lot going on down in Les Anglais, and we need to keep up with that as well as our work on planning for the coming events and the mission this year.
Thanks so much for the fun and fellowship we have each month together.  I hope we can get even more folks to join us to celebrate and create ministry together.

Blessings!

From Fellowship & Parish Life...

From Joanna Morris -

"To all who have supported us through the most difficult challenge of our lives,  Donny, Cooper and I would like to say thank you so much for the support that everyone in our faith family and community has shown since Cooper's diagnosis of stage IV kidney cancer the evening of December 7th.  We are so thankful and humbled to know how many people have come together to help our family.  Whether it is through prayers, donations, dine and donate events, or a note or card, we will be forever grateful to you all.  It is just the extra comfort of knowing that we will be able to get through this because of our faith and the support of each one of you.  Our Blessings and Gratitude,
If you want to read our story, you can find it at this link:

and this from one of the organizers of the Baja Fresh fundraiser....

"...I am happy to inform everyone that, we've had sold over $3168.18 in food and beverages.  50% donation of the nights proceeds is $1584.09.  In just a few hours in the evening, we raised $1584.09 for the Morris family!
Over 120 families came together to give back to their community.  That's a lot of people!!
Special Thanks going out to Baja Fresh Lake Oswego team for hosting this amazing event!  We thank you for helping us in making this event super successful."

The struggle continues for Cooper with more chemo treatments coming, but you can help!

Meal Train for the family of Cooper Morris - What's a Meal Train? It's organized meal giving around significant life events.

What this really means...
When a friend is in need, everyone asks "What can I do to help?" The answer is always to make a meal. When many friends make and deliver a meal, this is a m eal train.  To eliminate confusion and increase support we're using  Mealtrain.com.
A shared Meal Train calendar and meal instructions answer questions in advance like, What do they like? When are they available? What have they already had? Are there any allergies? and When should I drop off a meal?

You can help Cooper and his family in his ongoing battle with cancer by signing up to provide a meal the family. Here's the link to the calendar. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated by Joanna, Donny and Cooper Morris. Click here to climb on board the Meal Train!

OSLC has a Dementia Respite Pilot program which offers
vouchers for a day of respite care at home or in a day care center.  We have funding for two vouchers per month of up to $100  for each. If you know of a care giver who would benefit from a day away from care giving responsibilities please have them call Susan Schenk at 971 -409-4510 for more details.
