This panel discussion will explore the resurgence of the vinyl format and its impact on the local music industry. Leading members of Detroit's music industry will be on hand to discuss whether or not the resurgence is real, Detroit's storied history with vinyl manufacturing, and more.

'Xu Weixin: Monumental Portraits' Guided Tour
This exhibition will focus on two of the accomplished Chinese painter, Xu Weixin's,large-size portrait series: Miner Portraits-coal miners working in harsh conditions in contemporary China-and Chinese Historical Figures: 1966-1976-people who lived during the turbulent time of the Cultural Revolution. Join UMMA docents as they explore these monumental and poignant portraits.

Anthony Marcellini's first solo exhibition in Detroit explores narratives of persistence and fracture within the urban habitats in which certain objects live. Speculating on the stories objects tell about life in cities, rising and falling, and rising and falling, a cycle of tides driven by economics, politics and industry.

The Detroit Artists Market (DAM) is pleased to present the Biannual All Media Exhibition 2016. This year, the DAM invited Mary Ann Wilkinson to select from over 200 pieces of artwork submitted for consideration. The All Media Exhibition will feature a wide array of work from 64 local artists.

Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit :
Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and MOCAD Board Member Derrick May are three Detroit-based musicians credited with the invention of Detroit techno. May famously described the sound he helped create as being "like George Clinton and Kraftwerk stuck in an elevator.

Ponyride :
Kokedama is a Japanese garden tradition similar to bonsai. Participants are kindly asked to bring used plastic shopping bags to donate for an installation project Olivia will be working on for her artist residency at Ponyride and in collaboration with the Corktown Strut Music and Arts Festival.
