Classic Sumatra cup profile - big and earthy. Slightly herbal character, with exotic spice notes of clove and fruited nuances of tamarind and raisin.
Good Sumatras have become difficult to find, and expensive. We were excited to see this nice offering cross our table recently, and at a relatively decent price. It's not a carefully pedigreed coffee with an extraordinary story, just a solidly good Sumatra at a decent price.
From south-west Colombia, this coffee is bright tasting with a medium body.
It has overtones of orange and lemon with a hint of a floral finish at the end of the cup. It is an excellent all around coffee; great with all prep methods, including espresso and is a wonderful iced coffee.
Huila is a very fertile area of Colombia where the coffee is grown at an altitude of 1,800m above sea level. Unusual for a Colombian coffee, the Huila has a very low acidity and is surprisingly smooth.
Having a Memorial Weekend picnic? Pick up a bag of coffee, brew it hot then stick it in the refrigerator to make iced coffee to bring along. Some of our favorite iced coffees include Colombia, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe and Brazil Oberon. We also have a nice selection of teas for iced tea lovers. Don't want to water down your iced coffee or iced tea? Try this little tip: Pour some brewed coffee or tea into ice cube trays and let it freeze. Then pop the cubes out of the tray. Viola! Iced coffee and iced tea cubes!
