URMD publishes fiscal 2015 annual report

URMD Annual Report The Washington County Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD) has published its 2014-2015 Annual Report.

URMD covers 441 miles of urban neighborhood streets that are outside of cities. Property owners in urban unincorporated Washington County pay $0.2456 per $1,000 assessed value in service district tax for URMD. The owner of a home with an assessed value of $200,000 pays less than $50 per year for URMD.

Pavement maintenance is URMD's primary mission, with about 95 percent of URMD streets rated in "good" or better pavement condition. URMD has also allocated more than $8.5 million for 25 safety improvement projects during the last four years.

A citizen advisory committee reviews URMD services and makes recommendations about service levels, maintenance plans and safety improvements. The committee invites residents, property owners and users of URMD-maintained streets to complete the URMD customer satisfaction survey.   URMD Annual Report   Transportation funding

Scoggins Dam seismic studies will impact traffic at Hagg Lake
UPDATE : The direction of this lane closure has changed.

The northbound lane of West Shore Drive across Scoggins Dam will be closed starting May 31. The lane is expected to remain closed until 5 p.m. July 1 while Bureau of Reclamation conducts seismic testing on the dam.

Southbound one-way traffic only will be allowed across the dam during this work. Travelers will be able to turn onto West Shore Drive from Scoggins Valley Road. West Shore Drive across the dam will be open to two-way traffic before the Fourth of July holiday week.

The lane closure impacts all road users - motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians. This work was scheduled to create as little inconvenience as possible to park users and planned events. Every effort will be made to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.

Neighborhood Meetings for Proposed Developments:

NOTE: These meetings are for proposed developments in the unincorporated portions of the County (outside cities) only. For information on development within a city, please contact the city. This information is provided as a courtesy only. Developers are required to hold Neighborhood Meetings prior to submitting certain land use applications to Washington County. A developer may also choose to hold such a meeting voluntarily if it is not required by county code. These meetings are intended to serve as a forum for the developer, affected CPOs (Citizen Participation Organizations), and property owners within the required notification buffer (500 feet in urban areas; 1,000 feet in rural areas) to discuss the proposal prior to the developer submitting an application to the county.
