Memorial Day Sunday / Poppy Day

THIS Sunday, May 29

In observance of Memorial Day, a day of remembrance for those who have died in service of the United States of America, our Military Support Group (MSG) and the HMUMC Boy Scouts will distribute  bright red poppies in exchange for donations to assist the North East Georgia Homeless Veterans Shelter in Winder, GA this Sunday after services. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase mattresses, blankets, sheets and pillowcases for this non-profit organization.

5. Foster Care Informational Meeting

Foster Care Ministry Informational Meeting
Wednesday, June 15 at 6:30pm at HMUMC

HMUMC and The United Methodist Children's Home (UMCH) envision a world where every child is raised in a loving, compassionate and nurturing home. 150 foster children a month in Georgia are sleeping in hotel rooms supervised by strangers (a contracted state employee to be specific). The UMCH turns away an average of 30 foster kids a week, all because there are not enough foster homes. Our HMUMC Foster Care Ministry is trying to help.

Learn more or RSVP for the informational meeting on June 15 at www.hmumc.org/fostercare.

6. New Study Starting Soon

In this 4-week study, you'll learn how to find peace about difficult relationships even when you can't find peace in those relationships. Childcare available for children in 5th grade and below.

8. THANK YOU!!

Thank You for Your VBS Donations!

If you would like to be apart of this fun week, we are still in need of volunteers. Please visit www.hmumc.org/summerfun to sign up.

Thank You to all Mill Creek Baccalaureate Volunteers!

On Sunday, May 22nd, our church hosted the Mill Creek Baccalaureate and reception which was attended by over 600 people. Thank you to all of our volunteers for donating food, serving drinks, setting up, greeting and/or washing dishes. You helped to demonstrate the love of Christ which can be experienced in our church. Thanks again for giving of your time and talents.  It was deeply appreciated.

10. Crosstown Kids

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN! We Need  Volunteers

We have an immediate need for more volunteers in our special needs Sunday school classes at 9:30am and 11:00am. We are facing the possibility of having to cancel a class one Sunday a month. It would break our hearts if the families of our special needs kids would have to miss church. Please consider sharing a small amount of time with these folks, so that they can spend an hour in worship without worrying about their kiddo!

Email  [email protected] to learn more about volunteering once a month or as a substitute.

WinShape Camp

Registration is open for completed 1st - 9th graders. WinShape Camp for Communities is the ultimate day camp experience. We combine sports, arts, recreation, Bible Study and worship into one incredible week, keeping them busy from 8am to 5pm each day. On top of that, your kids will be guided by some of the most fun and best trained summer staff in the entire country.

Visit www.hmumc.org/winshape to learn more, register for camp, volunteer or make a donation to our scholarship fund.
