Sri Paripoornanada Giri Swamiji
Speaking Thursday Night
7:30 pm in the Community Hall
Dear Friends,
If you want to become saintly, the best way is to be near saintly people. I was lucky enough to get the darshan of Sri Paripoornanada Giri Swamiji several years ago at a large yagna at the Memphis Sri Venkateswara Temple. At the time, Swamiji asked me for a donation of $20,000 to build a medical clinic at his ashram. Not having $20,000 available, we made a donation of $1,000 on behalf of all the temple devotees. I am always dreaming that someday our temple will be rich enough to fully fund charitable projects like the medical clinic.
The nature of Swami Paripoornanada and saintly people is to always be thinking of how to help others. Yes, they talk deep philosophy about the Atman. But they also put into action many schemes and plans, such as orphanages, schools, old age homes, etc. that help the common person, whatever their caste, sex, color, or religion are.
Swamiji is the spiritual head of Vyasa Ashram. It is located at Yeerpedu which is near Tirupati and Sri Kalahasthi. Sri Vyasashram established by Malayalaswami has become an important seat for spiritual knowledge attracting thousands of spiritual practitioners, aspirants and devotees. This was founded by the great Sri Sri Sri Malayalaswamiji. Paripurnandaswami became the Uttaradhikari of the Sri Vyasashram in 1993. He served the ashram devotedly for around 25 years. He wrote a Telugu book entitled Gitamruthamu. Swamiji travelled in and around Andhra Pradesh extensively and to England and USA.
Malayalaswami started separate Sanskrit schools, residential schools for boys and girls, orphanages for boys and girls, separate Brahmavidya Pathasalas (Schools of the Knowledge of Self) for boys and girls, free boarding and lodging facilities for children and aged, free clinic, old-age home and a printing press to publish spiritual books and magazines on a large scale.
Please come enjoy the company of this saintly man Thursday night.
With loving regards,
Craig Sastry
