Dear
May is the season of college and university commencements and we are enormously proud of the young adults who comprise the Class of 2016. In a particular way we acknowledge the many Catholic young adults from across the country who participated in ESTEEM (Engaging Students to Enliven the Ecclesial Mission) this year, newly equipped to serve in leadership capacities in the Church when they leave their beloved campuses. We thank our young adults for their faith and dedication.
My colleagues at the Leadership Roundtable and I have been preparing for our annual meetin
g June 29-30 in Philadelphia. These are energizing and promising days for our service to the Church as we lay the foundation for expansion and growth.
Thank you, as always, for you prayerful, active, supportive participation in our mission.

Profiles in Leadership
The Leadership Roundtable's "Profiles in Leadership" highlight leaders who are committed to best practices for the betterment of the Church's temporal affairs. The Leadership Roundtable recently spoke with Kathleen McChesney, Ph.D., head of Kinsale Management Consulting and former head of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Secretariat for the Protection of Child and Young People, about the role lay people play in building a healthy Church. The Gift of Administration
In his First Letter to the Corinthians Paul cites "administrators" as one of God's gifts to the Christian community (1 Cor 12:28). But many who serve in administrative service today have difficulty seeing how their everyday work is an expression of discipleship. The Gift of Administration, written by experienced administrator and noted biblical scholar Donald Senior, shows how the various functions of institutional administration are deeply rooted in the Scriptures and are a genuine expression of our call to discipleship.
Leadership, mission statements and planning, finances and fundraising, personnel issues, communications, and public relations - all of these seemingly "secular" activities serve to build up the Body of Christ and deserve to be recognized as authentic Christian ministry. To see administrative service as a biblically-rooted gift can help those involved in this way of life to find deeper and more satisfying spiritual meaning in what they do.

Support the Leadership Roundtable
This year on May 15th, we celebrated Pentecost, the day on which the Spirit brings the church into existence and enlivens it.
At the Leadership Roundtable, we work in partnership with Church leaders to educate, inspire and enliven the Church through best practices and managerial reforms. Together, we make the Church stronger, smarter and more capable of fulfilling its mission - to give spiritual leadership to millions of Catholics around the world.
It is through your support of the Leadership Roundtable that we are able to do this important work, and we need your help now, more than ever.
