  • Wilton Library will be closed Monday, May 30, for Memorial Day.
  • Now that the warm weather is here, don't forget our beautiful courtyards are open and inviting. Be sure to borrow our chess, checkers and backgammon pieces from the Circulation Desk for use on the stone game tables in the Brubeck Courtyard.

WILTON READS 2016 Author Visit
Paula McLain, Circling the Sun
Wednesday, June 1 @7pm
New York Times  bestselling author Paula McLain visits to discuss Circling the Sun  for the culminating event in the community-wide Wilton Reads 2016 program. The novel is a New York Times  bestseller and named one of the best books of the year by NPR, Bookpage , and Shelf Awareness . Paula McLain is also the author of the novels The Paris Wife  and A Ticket to Ride;  the memoir  Like Family: Growing Up in Other People's Houses as well as two collections of poetry.  She has received fellowships from Yaddo, the MacDowell Colony, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Ms. McLain will be presented with the Grodin Family Fine Writers Award at the event. More info & register .
Judgment of Paris Wine Tasting Event
Saturday, June 4 @4pm
Join in a special 40th anniversary 'mini-reenactment' of the famous 1976 winetasting when California wines beat out French wines in a blind tasting by French judges in Paris. The presenter and tasting coordinator will be George Taber, the only journalist present at the 1976 tasting and the author of Judgment of Paris. Mr. Taber will share the history of the event and then participants will have the chance to 'blind-taste' some red and white wines from California and France. More info & register
Wilton Library Association's 121st Annual Friends of the Library Meeting
Sunday, June 5 @4pm
A brief business meeting will include the election of new trustees and officers, a celebration of those who are retiring from our Board of Trustees, and the presentation of awards. The guest speaker is Bryan W. Mattimore, co-founder and "Chief Idea Guy" of The Growth Engine Co.  He is an author and one of America's top experts in applied creativity, ideation facilitation and innovation management. Artists' Choice 2016 Art Exhibition/Reception
Friday, June 3 @6pm
Four Fairfield County artists are featured in Artists' Choice 2016. They are all members of Art/Place Gallery in Fairfield, CT. The showcased artists are Diane Pollack of Fairfield; Mollie Keller of Trumbull; Toby Michaels of Westport and Bridgeport's Florence Zolan. A majority of the works will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library. Reception open to the public. Exhibition runs through June 30. More info

Multimillion copy and  New York Times bestselling author Terry McMillan comes to Wilton Library to discuss her latest novel, I Almost Forgot About YouLike two of McMillan's previous novels, Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back  (both adapted into films),  I Almost Forgot About You   shows what can happen when you face your fears, take a chance, and open yourself up to the world. This is the publication date of I Almost Forgot About You.
