Talking is powerful - and not enough women get to do it
Who Talks?, a project of Gender Avenger in partnership with CAWP and the Women's Media Center, found women dismally represented as expert analysts on most of the cable news shows it reviewed in April, with the exception (again) of Anderson Cooper 360°. Get the picture here and see what The Hollywood Reporter had to see about Megyn Kelly's selection of guests for The Kelly File.
One powerful woman tells the story of another
Thanks to former NJ Governor Christine Todd Whitman, who read Grace for President  to school children in Tewksbury, NJ (arranged by yet another powerful woman, school board member Krista Jenkins, who is also professor of political science and director of the Public Mind Poll at Fairleigh Dickinson University). The kids got to hear the story of a fictional woman leader from a real one, and afterwards Governor Whitman answered their many questions about politics.
Watching for future power
Keep up with upcoming elections for the U.S. Senate and House and statewide offices by visiting CAWP's Election Watch , where you can get the overall picture  and find links to individual candidates . And check Presidential Gender Watch 2016  for news, analysis and polling data on the presidential race.
Spring is a time of renewal, bringing new challenges and opportunities for women's leadership. Please renew your support of CAWP's work with a gift of $25 or more.

Making history, using power
Professor Karen Beckwith of Case-Western Reserve University, on Cleveland.com , discusses the potential for a presidential cabinet that "looks like America" - including half women. Governing looks at an example of a woman in power using it to make a difference: a woman prosecutor using her power to clear a backlog of untested rape kits. And NPR examines the potential for women to make history in 2016 Senate races.
Fun and games with women in politics

Powerful advice from Justice Sotomayor
In her commencement address at the University of Rhode Island, Justice Sonia Sotomayor touted the value of "uh-oh" moments as learning experiences, as reported in HuffPost Colleges.
