The Melting Pot Fundraiser continues during the entire month of May at the The Melting Pot-- Ahwatukee located at 3626 E Ray Rd., Phoenix, Arizona. Diners will have the opportunity to support BAG IT by  ordering from their Charity Dinner Menu, an amazing four-course dinner option consisting of cheese fondue, Melting Pot Signature Salad,  an *endless entree course, and chocolate fondue for dessert, all for just $39.95 per person!
 
Encourage your friends and family to come out to The Melting Pot.  You'll experience a wonderful meal while supporting a wonderful cause -- BAG IT!

Summer greetings! 

The temperature is heating up and so is the action here at BAG IT!  We are off to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) conference in Chicago in a few weeks to share BAG IT and ESCAPE programs with patient advocates and clinicians from around the country.   It is also a great opportunity for us to network with other national cancer organizations. 

Please take time to read below about upcoming events in Tucson and Phoenix.  We hope all our Phoenix friends, especially those that have been helped by BAG IT, will join us at The Camby for the 2016 Wine & Dine. 

Read on and meet our Volunteer and Event Coordinator Mindy Griffith!  She brings enthusiasm and innovative ideas to the BAG IT team.  Those who volunteer with us now and in the future will love working with her!

Be There for Bag It:
2016 Wine and Dine

BAG IT is  excite d to be hosting the Be There for BAG IT - 2016 Wine & Dine event in Phoenix on June 26th at The Camby Hotel.   We're looking forward to a lovely evening where you can Indulge your palate, Explore the wine, and Connect with others.

Cocktail hour starts at 5:30 pm, during which attendees can bid on unique silent auction offerings before settling into a dinner featuring three delicious, wine-paired courses.

Diners will also enjoy a live auction that features a 2-night stay and a $150 resort credit at Miraval Arizona Resort and Spa (worth over $1500). There is also a Prescott Getaway Package for a stay at the historic Hassayampa Inn in downtown Prescott.

Proceeds from this event benefit over 3,000 newly-diagnosed cancer patients and their families in Maricopa County each year.

The only gathering of its kind, the 6th Annual ESCAPE to Thrive is a unique national conference designed and developed by BAG IT for cancer advocates and held at Miraval Resort & Spa.  

ESCAPE to Thrive  combines features of a national leadership conference and a restorative retreat, with an underlying focus
on the wellness of the individual advocate as well as their cancer organization.

superherosSuperheroes Hike for BAG IT 
Sunday, November 13

We are asking all Superheroes (that is you) to save the date (Nov. 13) for our annual hike at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.   There will be hiking & walking activities for individuals of all ages and abilities to get your body moving on a Sunday morning. After you have exercised your Superhero powers on the hike, join us for a silent auction and raffle, along with other fun activities.  Then recharge your powers with a wonderful super-charged bunch and heroic conversation with all the other BAG IT Superheroes.

Start planning your costume now for the costume contest, and if art and design are your super powers, you may also want to submit a Superhero  design through our 2016 Take-A-Hike Superhero Design Contest (deadline June 3rd).  Click here for Contest Entry Form and Superhero Contest Rules.

Meet Our New Volunteer & Event Coordinator
Mindy Griffith
We are proud to announce the newest member of the BAG IT team, Mindy Griffith. Mindy brings a wealth of experience in the non-profit community here in Tucson.  Her background includes event planning and management at the University of Arizona and administrative oversight as a Board member of the W. Wright Foundation, St. Luke's Home, Inc., Easter Seals Blake Foundation, Big Brothers - Big Sisters of Tucson, and the Junior League of Tucson. Mindy also has a strong background in education, having taught K-5 elementary school. Her leadership skills, non-profit experience, and passion for the Tucson community make Mindy Griffith an excellent addition to the BAG IT team.
