SECTIONAL CHAMPIONS!

On Friday evening, the Girls' Varsity Tennis Team defeated #5 Avon 3-2.  The Bulldogs came out ready to compete and played with amazing focus and footwork on their way to the Sectional Championship.  Every court transmitted positive energy.

Number one singles Kara Mehringer played one of her best matches, even though she didn't get a victory.  Her lengthy battle on court kept her singles' teammates motivated.  Senior Morgan Bettner came ready to work and won a very disciplined match at the 2 spot.  Number one doubles Caitlin Preda and Payton Haygood also played one of their better matches against a tough team.

While they did not secure a victory, their enthusiasm was contagious to #2 doubles teammates Kristina Petrovic and Lily House.  House and Petrovic seized that energy and played their hearts out to overcome the Orioles in straight sets.
With the match tied at 2-2, #3 singles Hailey Blood persevered through some remarkably long rallies to clinch the title for the BULLDOGS!  A huge thanks to the gallery for all of your support and cheering!  Your contribution was invaluable.   The 'Dogs meet Zionsville in the first round of the regional at Avon on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
