Delivery by Drone... it's Coming!
Here at Tiresocks speedy service is our top priority which is why we've always had same day shipping! You can bet as soon as delivery by drone becomes a thing, that we'll be on board!
Speaking of drones... at the Consumer Electronic Show in January the new Ehang Drone Concept was presented. Forget delivering packages by drone; this drone delivers people. In fact, you can describe it as a flying taxi without a driver.
If this terrifies you, or delights you, well, stay tuned ... because right now this is still in concept form. But, as designed, the battery-powered Ehang Drone can accommodate one passenger, travel at up to 62 miles per hour, fly at an altitude of 11,150 feet, and can remain aloft for up to 23 minutes. Did we mention, it doesn't have a pilot? Instead, the passenger uses a touch-screen to enter his or her destination, and the vehicle's computer calculates the quickest and safest route. As designed, if one of the drone's eight propellers should fail, the others are sufficient to finish the journey.
