Press Release from the Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District

The first indications of West Nile virus in 2016 have been detected in samples of mosquitoes collected from the cities of Seal Beach and La Habra. The mosquitoes tested positive for the virus on May 13, 2016.

The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District (OCMVCD) routinely monitors populations of adult mosquitoes and tests groups of adult female mosquitoes for the presence of West Nile virus.
