Bugle Calls
Issue No. 1031
May 2016
Bob Bugle-B-1001
To quote an old saying, "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry".

With our March issue, we were hoping to get back on track with our monthly publishing calendar. That obviously didn't happen as the demands of our business (and life in general) prevented us from releasing an April issue. So we think it best at this point to "deal in reality" and plan for the foreseeable future that "Bugle Calls" will be released bi-monthly.

Our May issue of "Bugle Calls" will focus on the nobility of ad sales and why it should be viewed as a rewarding media career option.

Warm Regards,

Ad Sales is a Noble Profession!
By Bob Bugle
Bob Bugle-B-1001Many people today view careers in Sales with disdain. Salespeople are "always trying to sell you something you don't need; at a price you can't afford". Films like "Tin Men", "Glengarry Glenn Ross", "Used Cars" and others celebrate (often humorously) the less than honorable profession of selling stuff to unsuspecting and often naive consumers who buy from salespeople who possess an engaging demeanor and a "gift of gab" who can sell "refrigerators to Eskimos".

What Makes a Sales Pitch
As Told by Mad Men's Don Draper
A sales presentation or "pitch" is never easy. It's not just about throwing random information and hoping it'll stick with your audience. Your job is to convince customers and clients that yours is the best solution to their problem. If you don't have the right ingredients, you're sure to lose their attention. In order to seal the deal, your sales pitch needs to be creative, informative and visual.
