ALERT SUMMARY:

AMENDMENTS #249 AND #150 FILED TO INCREASE ABE FUNDING  

 

- Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz (D-Boston) has filed Amendment #249 to increase funding for ABE line item #7035-0002 by $2.1 million from $30.5 million to $32.6 million. 
   

 - In addition to Senator Chang-Diaz, the following Senators have signed on as co-sponsors to date:

  • Brownsberger, William (D-Belmont)
  • Eldridge, Jamie (D-Acton)
  • L'Italien, Barbara (D-Andover)
- Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) has also filed Amendment #150 to increase funding for the ABE line item by $500,000 to $31.5 million.  
 

-  In addition to Senator Eldridge, the following Senators have signed on as co-sponsors to date:

  • Chang-Diaz, Sonia (D-Boston)
  • Brownsberger, William (D-Belmont)

PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATOR TODAY!
-   We have a better chance of being successful if we have more co-sponsors for the amendments.

-   If your Senator is not a co-sponsor of these amendments and you haven't called him/her yet, please call today and speak to an aide.

-   Urge your Senator to support both amendments (#249 and #150) to increase ABE funding in the Senate budget.

-   If the Senator says he/she is part of leadership and unable to sign on as a co-sponsor, urge the senator to do everything possible to support the amendment during the debate.

-  Senators can sign on as a co-sponsor until the amendment is brought to the floor for debate. 

-  Debate begins on May 24 (Tuesday) so please call today.
