Next week, the Class of 2016 will graduate and the underclassmen will take their final exams. Underclassmen will have normal school days on Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24 with exams beginning Wednesday, May 25. Students who are exempt from a final exam were notified earlier this week. To be eligible for an exemption, students had to have an A average for a year-long course and had to have met the OSS requirements outlined in the Student Handbook . The underclassmen exam schedule can be found here.

Because of exams, the final day for the Eagles Learning Center will be on Tuesday, May 24. Students need to be picked up from CJ by 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 - Friday, May 27.

Underclassmen Statements

Balances Due Friday, Jul. 1

Statements to all underclassmen with outstanding balances were mailed out this week. Statements include the $200 technology fee for the 2016-2017 school year. Statement balances are due by Friday, Jul. 1 . Please contact the business office at 461-3740 x211 with any questions.

Incoming Freshmen Statements

Welcome incoming freshman families! A statement was sent out this week showing your paid registration fee and the $200 charge for the 2016-2017 technology fee. This fee is due by Friday, Jul. 1. Later this summer, you will receive another letter detailing your 2016-2017 net tuition payments. Please contact the business office at 461-3740 x211 with any questions.

Baccalaureate Mass

Thursday, May 19 | 7 p.m. | Emmanuel Church

Baccalaureate for the Class of 2016 will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Church. Due to a limited number of seats in the church, we ask for immediate family members in attendance only. There will be a reception outside of Emmanuel Church immediately following the ceremony.

Summer Mission Trips

Belize Meeting | Medical Forms Due

There is an orientation meeting for students attending the Belize mission trip on Friday, May 20 after school. Orientation meetings are mandatory. Students going on the Belize or Solsberry mission trip need to turn in an overnight medication form which can be found here . Seniors should have turned in their forms this week and all other students should turn in their form by Tuesday, May 24. Medication should be brought to the chaperones on the day students depart for their mission trip.

Student Service Hours

Due Tuesday, May 24

Volunteer hours over and above your student's religion requirements need to be turned into the Ministry & Service office by Tuesday, May 24 in order for them to be recorded on report cards and transcripts.

PERFORMING ARTS

PoPS Meeting

Tuesday, May 31 | 6 p.m.

The final PoPS meeting of the school year will be held o n Tuesday, May 31 , a t 6 p.m. at an off-campus location. Details and directions will be provided to individuals who RSVP to Debi Schutt. Please join us as we welcome our new team of officers and key volunteers. We will also celebrate our success in supporting our students and the performing arts department. We would love to have your input as we prepare for summer programs and our August welcome picnic. We hope to see you there!

CALENDAR REMINDERS

2016 Eagle Pride Band and Color Guard

Grades 7-12

Have you got spirit, energy and a love for music? Be a part of Eagle Pride '16! Eagle Pride is CJ's fall athletic band which performs at home and away football games as well as other school and community events throughout the fall season. The 2016 Eagle Pride will be the first band to perform in our brand new stadium and make history!

Sign-ups are currently underway for all students grades 7-12 (2016-17 school year) interested in being a part of Eagle Pride '16! Any student who plays an instrument including flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, baritone, tuba as well as percussion and any student interested in joining the Color Guard in Eagle Pride are welcome! F ill out this form to confirm your student's participation.

Important Dates:

Mini Camp will take place at CJ, June 1,2,3 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. each day.

Full Band Camp will take place at CJ August 8-12 from 1:00-7:00 p.m each day.

Regular weekly rehearsals during the school year for the full group will take place on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8:00 p.m.

Summer STEMM Programs

Sinclair Community College & Wright State University

There are two local STEMM programs available to students this summer. At Sinclair Community College, the program will run June 13-17 for girls entering grades 10-12 (more information here). The Wright State University program will run June 6-15 for students entering grade 12 and 2016 graduates (more information here). A list of other summer STEMM programs can be found on cjeagles.org.

CJ Summer College Boot Camp - Class of 2017

Wednesdays, Jul. 13 and Jul. 27

Parents and students of the Class of 2017 are invited to attend The 2017 CJ Summer College Boot Camp! We will hold 2 sessions to help students get a jump-start on their college applications, essays, Common App, letters of recommendation, researching scholarships, FAFSA, and much more.
