Super Bowl 50

Super Bowl 50 was played Feb. 7 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The first Super Bowl was played on Jan. 15, 1967, at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, with the Green Bay Packers beating the Kansas City Chiefs by the score of 35-10. To commemorate this year's golden anniversary Super Bowl, the Census Bureau presents a collection of facts looking at how life has changed from 1967 to 2016 and examining the demographics of the host metropolitan area, as well as the metro areas represented by the two participating teams - the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers.

Oklahoma Policy Institute:  Balanced Solutions Fact Sheet

It is anticipated that the FY17 budget gap may be more than 1 billion dollars. OK Policy lays out five reasonable solutions that Oklahoma legislators should consider during the upcoming session. Together, these solutions could generate hundreds of millions of additional recurring revenue, lessening the need for deeper cuts and helping put Oklahoma's economy and budget on a more sustainable path. They are:
  1. Repeal the most recent income tax cut;
  2. Adopt combined corporate reporting;
  3. End the double deduction of state income taxes;
  4. Enhance collection of taxes owed on online sales;
  5. Accept federal funds to expand health insurance coverage.
