Welcome back! We have a few important reminders for this week:
  • Applications for the 2016-2017 School Year close on Friday at 4pm. Therefore if you have siblings that are on the wait list, or who are eligible for Kindergarten in the 2016-2017 school year it is now time to place their application for enrollment!
  • The Parent Community Organization is offering Overnight Field Trip Scholarships for students in grades 5-8. The applications for these scholarships close on February 24th.  You will find all the details in the PCO Section of Ben's Buzz or on the PCO Page of the Website.
  • Basket Raffle donations are due to school no later than Monday, February 22nd.  Your students can place donations in the bins located in their classrooms.  Cash, Checks (made out to BFCCPS-PCO) and Gift Cards should be sent in a sealed envelope labeled PCO Raffle, c/o Leah Mercurio.  Please write your child's name and class on a note inside the envelope. Please contact your Room Parents with any questions about your classes participation in the Basket Raffle.

Save the Date! 


Save the Date:  Please join us for an adult only fundraiser to be held at Franklin Art Center on Friday, March 4 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Spread the news as family and friends are invited to join us for this fun event!  All proceeds will benefit the 8th grade trip to Washington, DC.

The cost of the event is $35.  BFCCPS parent, Robin Stamp, will lend her painting expertise as you make your own masterpiece to take home with you.  Enjoy some light music and take a chance at the 50/50
raffle! Space is limited, so you will want to reserve your spot
as soon as possible.

Field Trip Scholarship
 
Looking to defray those overnight field trip costs- here is you/your student's opportunity! 

The PCO is excited to announce this wonderful opportunity for our community.  As of today submissions for the Scholarship will be accepted thru the end of the day Wednesday, February 24, 2016.  See here for a summary of the BFCCPS PCO Overnight Field Trip Scholarship and  here for guidelines and the application.

The BFCCPS PCO Spring Family Social & Basket Raffle is Friday March 11, 2016 from 6:00-8:30pm at Tri-County. The event is sure to be OUT OF THIS WORLD!
 
New this Year!

Our students asked, and the BFCCPS PCO is thrilled to announce some of what's new. Grab your family, your favorite teachers, or your BFF and jump into our Professional Photo Booth! You will go home with printed memories of your Spring Social fun. Oh yeah, our picture props include the aliens our students suggested too!
 
Our extremely talented students are also working hard on the new BFCCPS Student Art Auction! Come bid on one of the 9 amazing and unique pieces, created by grade. A silent auction will be held at the Social, so you must be present to participate!
 
Plus, the event will still include all of your favorites: Friends, Food, Entertainment, Themed Games, Crafts, Caricatures, Face Painting, Surprise Guest appearances - and Raffles of course!

The next PCO sponsored Arts Enrichment Program is scheduled for Friday, February 19: Techsploration.  Grades 5-8 will explore "Structures" at 9:10. ALL are encouraged and welcome to attend the performances in the O'Malley Auditorium.

R eminders from the Front Office:
 
Visitors: All visitors to the school are required to sign in at the Front Office and wear a Visitor's badge. Visitors must be escorted at all times.  Thank you for your help with this!
 
Parking & Parking Lot Safety:  Parking is not allowed in marked reserved spots near the schools main entrance. These spots are reserved for the CCD program staff.

Please adhere to the posted arrival and dismissal procedures which are posted here our website.

To submit events for the School Calendar or to place building space requests please fill out a Blue Sheet in the front office and submit to the Assistant Head of School, Joe Perna. 

To submit content to the Buzz for publication, please email Joanne Basile with your 2-3 sentence blurb by no later than Monday at noon for publication in that Wednesday's issue.
