Here are a few highlights from the ongoing work at the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).
CVB Social Media Efforts Reach 1.5 Million Super 
Bowl Week

The Santa Clara Convention and Visitors Bureau's (CVB) Visitor Marketing & Communications staff's social media campaign during Super Bowl week reached over 1.5 million web users!   CVB produced specific posts to highlight Santa Clara visitor attractions, places to eat, and destination video to share with the Super Bowl web audience.  As a result, Visit Santa Clara social media channels on Facebook, Twitter, Google +, You Tube, and Instagram reached all-time highs in visitor engagement.

In one single Visit Santa Clara Facebook post on February 5, 2016, over 240,000 web users were reached and more significantly 11,871 web users Liked the post. In addition, the same post was Shared 483 times and had 275 Comments.   The web was certainly looking to Visit Santa Clara social media during Super Bowl week.
 
Much positive feedback was received online, complimenting Santa Clara's visitor attractions, places to eat, and destination video. The CVB's "50 Awesome Things to Do in Santa Clara" blog received the most attention with many visitors learning about the area's visitor attractions for the first time. In addition, there were many positive comments about the "50 Awesome Places to Eat in Santa Clara" list created by staff. 

Convention Center Sets Tone for Successful Super Bowl 50

The Santa Clara Convention Center set the tone for a world-class day inside and out, hosting three major Super Bowl events. Thousands of Super Bowl 50 attendees attended the pre-game parties held at the Center before and after kick-off.

Starting at 11:00 a.m. on game day, parties for NFL On Location, the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl Host Committee, and Anheuser Busch Bud Light ran smoothly with the world-class effort of Convention Center and ARAMARK staff. The NFL on Location party featured "The Band Perry," NFL Hall of Fame players, fans of both teams, event sponsors, and much more including giant screens behind the performance stage.

After the game, fans flocked back in to celebrate for several more hours.
CVB Team Works Super Community Celebration

CVB's V.P. of marketing & communications David Andre and social media coordinator Lea Finato played a big role in the City of Santa Clara's Super Community Celebration event that took place the day before Super Bowl Sunday on February 6, 2016. Along with reps. from event planning company Caravents and Santa Clara University, Andre coordinated talent appearances at the Pep Rally held inside Leavey Center at Santa Clara University.
 
Santa Clara residents and fans from throughout the Bay Area were able to get free autographs from previous Super Bowl champion players including John Taylor, Ricky Watters, Keena Turner, Eric Wright, and Cliff Branch as well as current 49ers team safety Eric Reid. Other talent appearing at the event included Oakland Raiderettes and 49ers Gold Rush cheerleaders, Miss California Teen USA, Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle Corps, PEANUTS characters Charlie Brown & Snoopy and Santa Clara University Athletics mascot Bucky the Bronco.
