Greetings Cascade Family and Friends,

I am not one who usually allows my behavior to be governed by any particular "season." I have taken on the policy, "when I learn better, RIGHT THEN, I do better." It just makes sense to me. Right? However, the season of Lent through Easter has always caused me to stop and pay attention. Sometimes I still find it hard to conceive of someone who has a LOVE for Me/You and a COMMITMENT to provide us Eternal Life, so strong that it takes Him to an old rugged cross. Even more amazing is that Jesus did not put up a fight, even though He knew His destiny. He gave His life freely for me and you! No greater love than this that He laid down His life for our sake.

Growing up in a small town in south Louisiana, I constantly experienced the love of my family and my community as a whole. That is why sacrifice and self-giving for the good of others is not a new concept for me; as I am sure it is not for many of you. However, NEVER had I experienced love to that degree. My family and community poured every good thing they had into me; and I will continue to be grateful for their love, wisdom, protection, and guidance. But God came through the form of Jesus Christ and gave to us what no one else could. Perhaps as I grow older, I become more sensitive to death and dying. Whatever the case, when I think of Christ on His way to Calvary, with me in mind, my SOUL loves Jesus. My response of love comes as a result of the greatest model of love ever shown--Jesus.

Family and Friends, you, too, are loved deeply by a God who came to show us just how much and just how far He was willing to go to prove that unconditional love. What will be your response? Feel the love. Live in it. Share it.
