TBG Members, John and Marlene Lind
Inside The Barnabas Group
Interview with TBG Member, John Lind
In a network as extensive and dynamic as The Barnabas Group ("TBG"), there are many platforms and opportunities available to our members.  God is continually working through each of our members to transform our community, and the world.  Below is an interview with a member of our TBG family, John Lind, which provides a glimpse into one of your fellow member's journey and impact as a member of TBG.
Question:  What has been your biggest blessing (take away) from TBG?

Answer:  "Engaging with others of like mind to come alongside ministries who are saving, and changing lives all around the world.  Being with others who are not satisfied with the status quo, and who are working to help ministries be more effective."

Question:  Have you gotten involved with, or helped a ministry or ministries?  If so, who and how did you come alongside them?

Answer:  "I have had an opportunity to be involved with 2 SWOT teams, and I also have worked alongside an urban church in South LA.  We brought expertise to their area of greatest need, and gave them prudent and practical counsel in order to meet the needs that they had expressed.  We have also had the pleasure of coming alongside ministry development representatives with practical counsel, and encouragement in their work with high capacity donors."

Question:  Has anything surprised you about TBG?

Answer:  "How sincere marketplace leaders in OC TBG take the responsibility of stewardship seriously.  They want to help in meaningful ways that lead to impact.  Our members take time out of their busy schedule to assist those ministries who would benefit from their counsel."

Question:  What have you learned, or been introduced to, through your involvement with TBG?

Answer:  "I have been introduced to many new friends who share my same values, and a passion to make a difference in the world.  I have also been introduced to many new ministries that are open to being examined to explore possible involvement."

Question:  What things do you look for when you are deciding about whether or not to get involved with a ministry?

Answer:  "Leadership is key.  I take into consideration the Chief Executive, and the ministry's board members.  Also, do they have the potential to make a significant impact in the lives that they are serving (or want to serve)?"

Question:  How has your walk with the Lord changed, or been enhanced, through your participation in TBG?

Answer:  "My walk with Jesus is always changing as I learn more about Him, and how He wants me to relate to Him and others.  TBG has given me an additional opportunity to grow deeper in my practical expression of my faith in Him."

Question:  Is there anything else that you would like to mention?

Answer:  "I have had the privilege of working with Jim on the Faith Works Team which meets with ministries prior to a potential TBG presentation.  It has given me a glimpse of what the Lord is doing in areas I would not have known.  I have also gotten to know Jim personally, and have sought his counsel on various things.  He has been a true testimony in my life as a friend and mentor."
