Dear K-BACH Listener,

Hello and welcome from me, your K-BACH afternoon host, Jon Town. I hope you are enjoying a good start to 2016 and anticipating a great year overall.

There is plenty to celebrate and look forward to,  the Cardinals game not  withstanding. Ouch!

For instance, K-BACH just wrapped up a week long
celebration of Mozart's 260th birthday, which was officially Wednesday the 27th, by playing a work from the master every hour, chosen with suggestions by you.

Every day from noon-1PM Linda Cassidy plays selections from the 2015 Top 100 Most wanted Classical Music pieces also chosen by you.

With the beautiful weather, gardeners are celebrating planting season: beets, carrots, onions and peas are all ready to be planted as are basil, chives and, for the feline crowd, catnip.

Opera lovers are looking forward to Arizona Opera's production of Bizet's "Carmen" in February, and every Saturday K-BACH broadcasts the Metropolitan Opera from New York.

And this is just the beginning!

In closing, thanks for listening to K-BACH every day and for your continued support of the classics.

Sincerely,

Jon Town

Baker and Chambers record their vehicle donation experience for on-air promotional spot.
Douglas Chambers and Mary Baker talk about the vehicle donation program.
Douglas Chambers and Mary Baker donated their boat to Friends of Public Radio Arizona through the Vehicle Donation Program. According to Chambers, it was a great option over attempting to sell the boat themselves.

"Quite frankly I'm not at all convinced that I would've made any more money by selling it myself in the long run," Chambers said, " and I'm just not willing to put all the energy that one has to put into such a project any longer."
