DID YOU FORGET? PASS THE HAT DONATIONS ARE DOWN!
Only 274 families have donated to our Pass The Hat fundraiser. Many people donated online on "Back to Business Day" in August, but many must have forgotten. :(

The suggested  $75 donation/per child helps fund all the programs and classroom grants that the PTA provides our students and school throughout the year. If we don't make up the shortfall soon, we will need  to take this into account when budgeting for next year and possibly have to cut programs.

Take a look at our video to see some of the great things the PTA does for Rockwell.

Can't remember if  YOU donated to our Pass The Hat fundraiser yet? Simply log in to your account on the PTA website and check your account/orders to see if you have paid yet for this year, or shoot us an  email and we can check for you

Many employers will match your Pass The Hat donation - get your matching submitted today! Many will also match your volunteer hours too, so be sure to ask your employer!

Last Week you got a flyer in your child's folder explaining our Mid-Year Pass The Hat Fundraiser. If you are new to Rockwell, have not donated yet for the year, OR still need to get your corporate matching in, please do so now!   You can donate online via the website or donate by check!  Thank you!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR NAMESAKE: NORMAN ROCKWELL!

Who is Norman Rockwell, and why does our school have his name?

Norman Rockwell was a well-known American illustrator who painted pictures that reflected current American culture. He was born in New York City on Feb. 3, 1894 and lived his life on the East Coast of the United States. He was most famous for his magazine covers for Boys Life magazine for the Boys Scouts of America and the Saturday Evening Post magazine. He produced 323 covers for the Saturday Evening Post over 47 years. Mr. Rockwell is remembered for his ability to create a picture of everyday life in the United States. In 1977, Mr. Rockwell was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for
"vivid and affectionate portraits of our country". He died in 1978. Check out the books in the school library that feature his art and story.

Norman Rockwell Elementary opened its doors in September of 1981. The school name was chosen from a list of famous Americans submitted by parents and students.
