AAHOA Meets With SC Gov. Nikki Haley & Lawmakers
AAHOA members and our new partners South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association (SCRLA) converged on the State Capitol in Columbia, South Carolina, to discuss issues affecting the hospitality industry Wednesday.

The day was capped off with a meeting with Gov. Nikki Haley and Duane Parrish, Director of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, in the Governor's Capitol office.  We had a productive discussion about leveling the playing field with Airbnb, keeping hotel taxes low, and supporting tourism, which is a $19 billion industry in South Carolina.
AAHOA members and staff, along with SCRLA representatives, met with Gov. Nikki Haley and Duane Parrish, Director of the SC Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
We also were able to meet and discuss our legislative agenda with Rep. Alan Clemmons and Sen. Luke Rankin, who are champions of the hotel industry and authors of S. 862 and H. 4329 which would subject Airbnb and other online short-term rental companies to South Carolina hotel taxes, our top priority in the state.
AAHOA members with Sen. Luke Rankin, a champion for our industry in the South Carolina Senate.
Rep. Alan Clemmons greeted AAHOA members just steps off of the South Carolina House of Representatives floor.
AAHOA members also had the honor of being introduced by Rep. Clemmons before the entire House of Representatives, who gave us a standing ovation for being in attendance.
Our special thanks to Mahesh "Mike" Patel, South Carolina Region Director, the South Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association, and all AAHOA members who attended.

Sincerely,
Chip Rogers
