EDC Spring Speaker Series

Please join us for our last Spring Speaker Series event of the semester. This event will feature two speakers: Mark Duey and Teju Ravilochan.  Mark Duey is Latin America Regional Manager at Water For People. Mark will present Water For People's approach to help governments achieve SDG-6, ensure access to water and sanitation for all. Te ju Ravilochan is co-founder and CEO of the Unreasonable Institute. He is a CU alumnus, completing his Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs in 2008.   Unreasonable Institute gets entrepreneurs what they need to scale solutions to the world's biggest problems.   Teju will be sharing about some of the work the Unreasonable Institute has done and is doing. Refreshments will be provided.

EDC Certificate Celebration

Students graduating this spring with EDC Certificates will be presented with their certificates at a celebration this Friday. All EDC students are invited and should have received an invitation via email and survey link in order to RSVP. Congratulations to Kaity and Matt who were both awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowships! This is a highly competitive program with only 2,000 candidates selected out of 17,000 applicants.

Join Tim as he presents his research entitled "Exploring the Effects of Constraints on Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithm Performance in Water Resources." His research seeks to better understand how multiobjective evolutionary algorithms (MOEA) are used in optimizing water resources models.
Fabien Maillard M.S. Report Defense

Join Fabien as he presents his research entitled "A system approach to community development dynamic modeling: the case study of Namsaling, Nepal". His research aims to explore ways to increase our understanding of the underlying behavior of a developing community through the use of system thinking and dynamic modeling.

EDC Representative Election

The Mortenson Center is currently seeking candidates for the student representative on the leadership committee during the 2016-17 academic year. This position acts as a conduit of program information between students and the leadership group. If you would like to be considered for this elected position, please send  Robyn Sandekian  your name and a brief  statement (175 word maximum) describing your interest and participation in the program to date, as well as a convincing argument as to why your peers should vote you into this position.  Statements of interest are due today (April 11 th) and voting will open on the 12th.
