Harmonizing with Perfecting Chords
Perfecting Chords will host its grand finale concert to showcase the artistic achievement of its 2015-2016 program participants.

Currently offered in all four elementary schools in the Winslow Township School District, Perfecting Chords is a free, after-school program designed to introduce students to basic music theory, harmony and melody, while building a greater sense of connectedness and community among the students, parents and teachers it serves.

"Perfecting Chords has served our students for the past three years and is so popular, there is a waiting list of students each year," said Superintendent H. Major Poteat, Ed.D.  "Parents call weeks before the school year begins to ask how to get their child involved.  The Winslow Township School District is fortunate to have this program."

The concert is scheduled for Friday, April 15, 2016 in Sarah Gordy Auditorium at Winslow Township High School.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the concert which begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public to enjoy for free.

Serving up the Perfect Prom for Senior Citizens
Chef Tim Witcher of "Chopped" fame serves up his winning dish.  The Food Network contestant winner will assist in serving up the perfect prom to local senior citizens.
The Perfecting Church is teaming up with the Senior Citizen's Association and Winslow Township High School National Honor Society to host the Senior Citizen's Prom on April 22, 2016. With the aid of Chef Tim Witcher, a local culinary arts teacher who recently appeared on Food Network and won its competition show "Chopped," Perfecting Singles Adult Life Ministry (PSALM) will serve up the perfect prom for a group of deserving senior citizens.

"It is a true blessing and honor to serve the matriarchs and patriarchs of the Winslow community," said Chef Tim Witcher. They have given so much, to so many, for so long, while inspiring, teaching, loving and praying for this generation. This is just a small token of my great appreciation to be able to share with these seniors what God has blessed me to do, which is cook!"

Food donations are requested and will be accepted on Sunday, April 17th between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at The Playhouse at Washington Township High School, 529 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road, Sewell, New Jersey.

Journey With Us!
2015 Glocal Engagement Team Member Darlene Meekins takes in the Holy Land

Join us on Friday, April 8th at 7 p.m. to learn about opportunities to be of service abroad during our glocal engagement trips planned for July and October of 2016 in the West Bank.

Since its founding in 2011, members and friends of The Perfecting Church have journeyed abroad, engaging  in humanitarian service projects with our neighbors in Israel and Palestine to foster dialogue, reconciliation and mutual respect among Christians, Jews and Muslims.

"More often than not, those who journey abroad with us discover the experience has just as much impact upon them as those they serve," said Pastor Kevin C. Brown of The Perfecting Church.  "While I'm grateful for the seeds of peace we're planting, I'm equally excited about the personal transformation I witness people undergo as their  perspective on the world changes and they come to the realization that we are our brother's keeper."

Have you ever asked yourself how did I end up here? How did I go from feeling hopeful, alive and excited about the trajectory of my life to dry, barren and just going through the motions? How did I go from feeling so close to God to feeling so far from God?
