Thank you for everyone who attended the MACC Awards last Thursday. We had a record number of nominees, with 4 categories needing a preliminary vote to reduce each category to the top three. It was very difficult with very deserving businesses and organizations not being showcased at the gala. Although it was difficult for the Board and committee to choose the winners, it was truly the Chamber's honor to share what an excellent job all of the nominees do for the community. The "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" seminar NE Tech Center is sponsoring is starting this week. Sara Stephens will be holding the training on Friday mornings from February 6 to April 1. This is your last chance to get registered. Make your reservations for the Rotary club's Sweetheart Dinner and Auction. This will be an evening of excellent food, fun, and an opportunity to raise money for a great organization! Also mark your calendars for Saturday, February 13. The Boys and Girls Club is hosting a benefit concert to raise money for construction costs of their new location. If you aren't able to attend, please consider making a donation. Remember to Shop Local First all year long. Have a great week! Michele On February 1, 1918 Crescent Laundry opened with "up to the minute" equipment able to do 10,000 collars a day. |
