On June 20, 2016, David Axelrod will be the keynote speaker for the Annual Johnson-Jordan Dinner sponsored by the Dallas County Democratic Party (DCDP). The event is scheduled at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Dallas.

Mr. Axelrod was Senior Strategist for the 2008 & 2012 Obama Campaigns. Between campaigns, he served as the Senior Advisor to President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2011. After serving in the White House, Mr. Axelrod was the founding Director of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago. In addition to his work with the Institute, Mr. Axelrod is a Senior Political Commentator for CNN.

In the past year, David Axelrod published his autobiographical book Believer: My Forty Years in Politics, which is a New York Times Bestseller. The critic for the New York Times describes the book as "a stout defense--indeed, the best I have read--of the Obama years." Doris Kearns Goodwin, the author of Team of Rivals, describes Axelrod's book as follows: "Beautifully written with warmth, humor, and remarkable self-awareness, Believer is one of the finest political memoirs I have ever read."

The net profits for the Annual Johnson-Jordan Dinner will benefit the DCDP, and particularly the 2016 Coordinated Campaign, through which the DCDP supports Democratic candidates in Dallas County.
