Keepers of the Dream ~

with Reverend Wendy von Courter

Sunday Seminar

On Sunday April 10th, BACK BY HUGE POPULAR DEMAND, Michael Sebastian of
www.SMILEproject.US  will share more about his one-man mission to teach English, Buddhist philosophy, and introduce the wider world to impoverished Laotian youth.  Michael also offers food and shelter to several abandoned youth, as well as entry into the world of higher education.  Come at 8:30 in case you missed the short video about his project and students last time, or at 9am for Q&A and discussion.

For more information about Michael's important work and to make a donation, please visit his website: http://smileproject.us/. Donation links follow his story. In addition to being a valued guest, Michael is the son of UUCMer Nancy Diaz.
Newcomers (and recent-comers!) are cordially invited to join us for breakfast on Sunday, April 10th at 9 am. Come meet with the minister & other members to learn more about UUCM, ask questions about UUism and get to know one another. Please RSVP to Rev. Wendy at [email protected].
Happy Birthday UUCM!

Long ago we said the Gala Celebration was to be the crowning event of our Tricentennial.  It was - in spades, due to so many people. Kudos to the Gala Committee - Cindy Moore and Robin Ronchi and their many helpers for the coordination and for the fabulous food, to Bill Smalley for coordination during the event, to Tom Gale, Chuck Scheffreen, and Oliver Loewen for photographic coverage, to Christina Aubin for getting out the great programs, to the team that put the ribbons on, to the Tricentennial Committee - Hazel Grenham, Mary Gardner and Bill Smalley, for all the ideas and work, to Wendy von, who named the guests and with Karen Gahagan put together the entire program, to the fabulous choir, and to the many people not coming to mind at this moment, and finally to all who came to be part of the event.  I don't think I'll be around for the Quadricentennial, but they will have a tough time topping this one!
 Hugh Stewart

P.S. Did you know we still have Tricentennial swag? There's still an opportunity to support the heroic efforts of this committee by buying tote bags ($25), caps ($20), bumper stickers ($5), note cards ($15), Hestia reproduction ($25),  and cookbooks ($25). Purchase at the grand event or better yet, make your purchase online!

Pysanka Egg Workshop
was a big hit and now an annual event!

Our first Ukrainian Egg Decorating event was a huge hit! Nearly 40 people of all ages came to design, wax, dye and celebrate egg creations of all sorts! They overcame breakages, supported and celebrated successes and enjoyed wonderful fellowship. We also decided this is a MUST every year! So, go ahead and mark your calendars for the Saturday of Easter weekend, 2017!

Greek Folk Dancing
April 10th

On the 2nd Sunday of the month at 1PM Mr. Eustathios Stratis will teach Greek Folk Dances from the various  regions of the main land & islands of the country.

This coming April 10, 2016 the focus will be on the dances of Crete, the large island in the Southern Aegean Sea where thousands of years ago the Minoan Civilization flourished. To this day elements of that "matriarchal" society still exists in the Dodecanise Islands, east of Crete, as theorized by the teacher, based on his observations during his 20 years living, working, researching & studying on the Island of Rhodes, Greece, the Capital of the Prefecture of the Dodecanise Islands in the Southeastern Aegean Sea.

Please note; children are always welcome to either participate in the class or to watch. High School & Jr. High School kids can participate with parental permission & grade school kids can participate accompanied by their parents.

Please be sure to register for these dance workshops. Registration is free and the dance workshops are free. If you'd like to make a donation please arrange it with the office. The teacher does not handle any money. Registration is essential because it will provide your contact information so we can let you know about changes &/or cancellations. Thank You.

Ashe Namaste Yoga - Yoga is on the fourth Sunday every month BUT because of our special concert on April 24th at 3 pm yoga will be postponed. We'll post info as soon as it's confirmed!

What are daily practices that sustain us? Ashe Namaste Yoga offers yoga and movement which honors the divine in each of us. Yoga cultivates awareness through flexibility, spirituality, breath and brain. This supports a healthy lifestyle, wellness and equanimity. The last half hour of class integrates Umoja, the Dance of Abundance circle dance, integrating strength, flexibility and rhythm that will heighten a sense of wellness, vibrancy and interconnectedness. Share with others who are exploring new levels of awareness of Mind-Body-Spirit and stress reduction. This class is for everyone! Classes are 2:00-3:30 pm and $25 but a sliding scale ($5-$25) registration process is in place to accommodate financial restraints. We encourage anyone who is able to pay $25 to do so as Wyoma travels in from Dorchester and travel costs increase appropriately increase our cost to bring this wonderful program to our community. But our goal is many people attending so please do not let finances stand in the way. Take advantage of the sliding scale!

WYOMA is a certified yoga instructor from the Sivananda Yoga Vendanta Centre in Montreal, Quebec. She has taught yoga for over 40 years and now blends a variety of classical yoga styles. She is also a holistic coach and creator of the African Healing Dance.

Despite the fact that he may not be a household name at present, Kellogg has persisted in building a substantial career of playing genre-defying music which has landed him on stage with some of the biggest touring acts in the country like Train, Sugarland, Oar, and Josh Ritter, on the Billboard charts, and with his songs as the backdrop of numerous films and TV shows like One Tree Hill, Men of a Certain Age, and Mercy.

Joining Stephen for this show is up and coming singer-songwriter Anthony D'Amato. It's a rare opportunity to see both Stephen and Anthony play in such an intimate space.
