April Showers...
Shabbat Shalom
April 8, 2016
Life is a gift, accept it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is a mystery, unfold it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a struggle, face it.
Life is a beauty, praise it.
Life is an opportunity, take it.
Life is a mission, fulfill it.

Life sidelined me this week with a Lumbar MicroDiscectomy to remove a herniated/fractured L5-S1 disc which resulted in a slumber party (for me and Hannan) at our excellent Henry Ford Hospital. Public appreciation for my excellent care goes to all those at Henry Ford and Hannan, Ellen, Mom, Diane (my "mentor") our kids and kid-in-law, Pam T., Nancy S, Dr. Chedid, Dr. Morris Brown and those of you who sent/send moral support.  I am on the mend but my computer time was replaced with rest and rejuvenation resulting in this abridge Shabbat message.

News of the week

Merle Haggard died. Ted and Bernie triumphed in Wisconsin. Villanova won March Madness. Mississippi passed their (discriminatory) Religious Freedom Bill and Ellen (who's been entertaining me during the 3pm TV hour) shared her disappointment.  http://ellentube.com/videos/0-0wrxm7u9/
Also, today is opening day for the Detroit Tigers baseball season and this story of a local holocaust survivor's bucket list to sing the national anthem is inspirational. (thanks Aviv, birthday boy, for sharing it with me).  http://tinyurl.com/SurvivorBucketList

Preparing for Passover

With Passover just 2 weeks away (starting the evening of Friday April 22nd, which is also Earth Day), I thought you'd appreciate this  last bit of levened lovelyness Chocolate Babka

And to get you in the mood to celebrate our Holiday of Freedom, please enjoy this beautiful rendition of  Eliyahu HaNavi by dear friend, David Broza:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpGt3JUc2X4&feature=youtu.be

Lastly, if you are looking for the best and widest selection of Passover products, you must visit Johnny Pomodoro's at 14 Mile Rd. and Middlebelt.  Plus it is (owners and our friends) Julie and Dan Sonenberg's birthdays this week so when you "Popin", you can wish them Happy Birthday.  http://www.johnnypomodoros.com/

Wishing you and your family a
Sweet Shabbat Shalom!
Lisa
