Tonight's "Smart Driving University" event has been cancelled.
 
Due to an unforeseen health concern with Doug, one of the speakers, he and Pat will not be able to be present with us. Please keep them in your prayers.

The Middle, What's in the Bible, Wednesday Night Supper, and other programs will continue as scheduled.

Women's Ministry Bake Sale!

The HMUMC Women's Ministry will be selling homemade baked goods this Saturday at the Men's BBQ. Please stop by and grab a yummy treat to help support this growing ministry.

3. Book Drive


Christian Library International Book Drive

We are collecting new and used Bibles, Christian books, DVD's and CD's for Christian Library International (CLI) through April 24. CLI brings the message of hope to those who need it most desperately, the men, women and youth locked inside our prison walls. Collection bins will be located near the Rooftop and by the Welcome Center in the Narthex.

In an ever polarizing world, understanding people's perspectives is a way we can begin to love our neighbors. Join Alan Howard of the Islamic Speakers Bureau for a presentation and discussion on American Muslims--their beliefs and practices, place in American culture, & more!

5. Interest Meeting

Interest Meeting for New Singles Group
Tuesday, May 10 at 6:30pm in Room 339

If you're single -- never married, divorced, widowed, or any other circumstance -- we want to help you connect with others in the church to develop friendships while also growing closer to Christ! Join us for a free dinner at the church as we dream and plan out what this group could look like, and when it would meet. This is the initial gathering, so we'd love for you to come and bring a friend!


6. FYI 55+ Luncheon

FYI 55+ "Lunch with Huck!"
Wednesday, May 11 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm in the Sanctuary 

If you are 55 or older, join us for this special luncheon. Our speaker will be syndicated newspaper columnist and humorist, Darrell Huckaby. A native of Porterdale, Georgia, "Huck" has been delighting readers and audiences for years with his insights on Southern life. Find out more about Huck at http://darrellhuckaby.net. Please bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share.

7. Volunteers Needed

Crosstown Kids Summer Volunteers Needed

Join our amazing team of Crosstown Kids small group leaders! Summer is the perfect time to try something new. We only have a few Sundays to cover at both the 9:30am and 11:00am hours. Leaders arrive 15 minutes before the hour to get ready for the kids, downstairs in the classrooms. You will greet the kids, then head upstairs to the Rooftop for 30 minutes of Extreme Worship. After worship, you will head back downstairs for a short small group time. We will have your small group time completely planned for you along with a bin of supplies, all you have to do is have fun! Our 2016 VBS theme is Cave Quest: Following Jesus. The light of the world! Our mission: Grounding kids in the rock-solid foundation of God's love, a love that will take us through life's dark times.

VBS T-shirts and CD Sales
T-shirts and CDs will be on sale before and after worship services beginning Sunday, May 1 through open house on June 5.


9. WinShape

WinShape Camp 

Registration is open for completed 1st - 9th graders. WinShape Camp for Communities is the ultimate day camp experience. We combine sports, arts, recreation, Bible Study and worship into one incredible week, keeping them busy from 8am to 5pm each day. On top of that, your kids will be guided by some of the most fun and best trained summer staff in the entire country.
