This week, we are excited to share with you that we are joining the ranks of many worthy local nonprofits that are participating in the "Amazing Give" - a special online push to connect North Central Florida donors with the great work being done in our community to improve the lives of people who live and work here. Nearly 50 local nonprofits have already signed up and from now until May 3rd, you will have the opportunity to pledge your support to a cause you care about. Choosing the United Way means your choice is vetted, and leveraged, up to $3 per every $1 you give, to improve education, health and income in Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy and Union Counties. That is truly amazing! Gainesville may not be the first city in Florida you think of when it comes to charitable giving, but did you know we rank 8th in the state for the most giving communities? Last fall, Philanthropy.com
published a ranking of the nation's top giving communities, and Florida ranked 18th of all states when it came to charitable donations. Gainesville's charitable contributions, a whopping $115,990,000, is a testimony to the commitment of local people to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors and friends. So, continue to be amazing and on May 3rd, let's show the world why Gator Giving is the most amazing of them all!
