We've Launched Our Newly Designed Website!
 
The University Health Services, Tang Center is proud to launch our newly redesigned website, uhs.berkeley.edu. T he primary objectives of our site development effort were focused on aesthetics, simplifying our content, and increasing the visibility of our programs. The new design also allows for streamlined menus, clear navigation, and a responsive layout for all platforms. Explore the site to learn more about our full spectrum of services! Bene Gatzert, MPA, joined the UHS Staff in 1989. Since then she's worked with student government and committees  to ensue that their needs are being met at Tang. In Bene's #TangTip she encourages students to make the most out of there healthcare experience by taking the time to get to know which health providers best fits your needs. "If you think you'll be visiting Tang more than once, choose a clinician, counselor or health educator that's a good match for you," said Bene in her #TangTip to students. Outside of the office, Bene enjoys hiking (especially at Point Reyes National Seashore), travel and wildlife photography. Free Rapid HIV Testing
The Sexual Health Education Program (SHEP) will be providing free rapid HIV testing for Cal students in a safe, confidential space in Health Promotion, 2nd floor of the Tang Center.  Results are available in 30 minutes. The last testing for this semester is on  Friday, April 29, from noon to 3pm Space is limited, and clients will be tested on a first come, first served basis.  Check here  for more information.

Did you know that 27% of Cal Students never drink and 57% had fewer than 2 drinks the last time they partied? As we progress through this semester, allow yourself to only be in spaces that you comfortable with and don't pressure yourself to be in situations where you aren't.  If you find yourself in a situation where intervention may be appropriate, don't let small problems become big. If you see something, do something.

SHIP Plan for 2016-17 Announced
UC Berkeley and University Health Services (UHS) are pleased to announce that we will be awarding the SHIP medical contract to Anthem Blue Cross for the 2016-2017 school year. Through strong partnership with our student leaders and campus stakeholders, we were able to address the priorities identified by the ASUC, GA, and the  Student Health Insurance Advisory Committee (SHIAC)  in this new agreem ent including:  reestablishing dependent coverage, broader in-network providers, and additional transgender, dental and vision benefits. Read more

Each  week the 75-minute workshop session will include practicing a relaxation exercise and learning a cognitive & behavioral coping strategy. Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss current concerns and exchange support.

Upcoming sessions are Wednesday, April 20 and April 27 from 11:15am to 12:30pm at the CPS Annex Office, 2311 Bowditch St.
