Historic Waterford Building Survey

The Waterford Foundation and the Waterford Citizens' Association (WCA) are collaborating on a new project, the Historic Waterford Building Survey. Like the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) project of the 1930's, our village survey intends to record, preserve and archive the architectural details of the village buildings and environs.

Plans call for giving one DVD of photos for the homeowner and archiving a copy of the DVD with photo prints at the Foundation and The Balch Library. Local photographer Sky Richardson has generously come forward to get us started on the photography, and she has already photographed the Jacob Mendenhall House.

If you have any questions or are interested in getting involved, please contact WFI Executive Director Tom Kuehhas or WCA President Ann Belland.

The Sweetheart Ball to benefit Historic Waterford

Chris Gleckner, WF Vice-President and Tom Kuehhas, Executive Director cheer 72 years of preservation of Historic Waterford.

The Sweetheart Ball on Valentine's Day at the Belmont Country Club was a smash hit and guests danced the night away to the Martinsburg Jazz Orchestra and the Intrepid Jazz Trio while celebrating 72 years of preservation in Historic Waterford.

The Live and Silent Auctions were a huge success and generated $9,240 to benefit the Waterford Foundation.

Thank you to the Sweetheart Ball Committee:  Co-Chairs, Jackie and Jim Gosses; and Vice-Chairs, Neil and Kathleen Hughes and Connie Moore and Jim Behan for coordinating a a lovely event.
