Summer Archaeology Camp

Rising third through sixth graders are invited to an archaeology summer camp August 3 through 7, 2015, with Dr. David Clark, lecturer at Catholic University and founder of the Loudoun Archaeological Foundation, at the Waterford Old School.  Some activities that children will explore with "Dr. Digs" will include:

  • Artifact Adventures 
  • Happy Hands-On Handlings
  • Uncover Cemetery Secrets
  • Metal Detector Mania: Using archaeology tools
  • Investigate Hidden House!
  • Mystery Mapping: ......the game's afoot......
  • Ancient Games: Use the Spear-Thrower
  • Make and Take: Build an ancient pot                 
  • Bygone Byways: Let's Track Old Trails
  • Discover Mysteries of the Mill.....
  • Bony Bones: Skeletons Studies

Register today, there are only a few spots left!

The camp is from 9 to 3 p.m. each day. The cost is $200 per child.  Download a registration form here.

Have you thought about joining a pool this year?

The Greystone Community Pool, just outside the village of Waterford is a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other families that live in Loudoun County!

On June 16th, from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. you are invited to attend the Greystone Community Pool Party-Open House-Fundraiser event!  No cooking necessary on the last day of school! Pittsburgh Rick's (from Leesburg) food truck will be at the Pool Party serving food and drinks from 4:30-7:00 p.m.  In addition, there will be a chance to win a free week of summer camp to Ballentine Farm (a $365 value)

Western Loudoun Artists Studio Tour

The Western Loudoun Artists Studio Tour offers a weekend of art, shopping and relaxation. Visit the studios of over 60 talented artists as you wind through the scenic countryside and historic villages of western Loudoun County. Enjoy paintings, pottery, jewelry, photography, fiber, sc
