Steve has been busy in the studio pushing the complexity of more layered color.
These beads on the right get a patina of color to build variety into the necklaces, then loads of sanding, polishing, & scrubbing. Then lots of editing the arrangement of color to give each necklace its own palette and character.
Ford/Forlano will be profiled in the next issue of American Craft magazine, due out mid-May.
The theme of the issue is "teamwork". Diane Daniel interviewed us Philly and Santa Fe via Skype from her home in the Netherlands, and Jared Castaldi photographed us both in the Philadelphia studio when David came back east in February for the Baltimore show.
