Earth Week 2016 We would like to congratulate our poster contest winner, Ian Schwartz, from Howard Drive Elementary. Village officials will visit the winning school for a tree-planting ceremony on April 20th. Earth Week officially began April 17th, and we have a full line-up of exciting and free  events , lasting all week!  Remember to to swing by Ludovici Park on Saturday, April 23 between 8-11 am for the Shade Palmetto Bay Tree Giveaway and be sure to register online before Thursday, April 21 for the Bike-B-Que & Bike Rodeo on Saturday, April 23.

Plundering Palmetto Bay  O n Friday, April 29th, detective skills – and an appetite – will be necessary for the ‘Plundering of Palmetto Bay’s’ interactive scavenger hunt starting at 7:000 pm at Thalatta Estate Park, beside the beautiful Biscayne Bay. Highlights:

If you missed the "Why Water Matters" forum, catch it on WBAY. Negotiations are still underway with the county to bring a Light Rail Transit system to South Dade.  The plan was discussed at a recent Town Hall meeting currently showing on WBAY or on demand; also  check out this Miami Herald article on the issue. We are excited to announce that the landscape beautification of the two triangular ends of the center US1 island on 160th & 183rd Streets has been completed. In conjunction with this project, we are also excited to be partnering with Fairchild Tropical Garden to supply and plant orchids for the project; part of their Million Orchid Program.
