Next year's Tax Form has only 2 lines:
- How much did you earn?
- Send it in!
Ha ha!
I tell my wife this joke every year.
She always groans.
She's an Enrolled Agent -- one of those
highly trained IRS tax experts we all need
about this time every year.
We all need to know someone like her.
Whenever we get in over our head.
Or else it's
"Better luck next year".
She has a small private business, and
every year she prepares tax returns for
about 80 regular clients.
She serves the same people every year,
and their "word-of-mouth" referrals always
bring a few new clients.
I'm proud of her. Watching her take care
of business teaches
me a great lesson about
the value of regular clients.
People you work with time after time.
People you count on and who count on you.
You know what to expect from each other,
and you can get it flawlessly -- first time,
every time.
Every job you do together gets smoother,
easier, and more effective than the last one.
I love it! This is what we all strive for, right?
Now, whether you're a Server or a Servee
(is that a word?), I bet we're in the same boat.
I'm always looking to feed relationships
with people like these. You too, probably.
It's not rocket science. We just need to stay
in touch, become friends, and do a perfect job
every time we work together.
We all develop favorites we work with over
and over. Favorite colleagues. Favorite clients.
People I think of whenever I need some help.
People I see and talk with often, so they'll
think of me whenever the time is right.
Now in our case, you can always count on me
whenever you need music for a special event.
I'll help plan the music and entertain your guests.
